It seems that Spring/Summer is setting in around Northern England and with it, photography weather. Simon has been awaiting the repair of his favourite camera and is looking forward to a long weekend during which many new photos will be collected of Yorkshire abbeys and countryside.

In the meantime, if you haven’t checked out the latest photos that were added by Jennifer, we’d recommed that you do so. A heady mix of snow shots, fireworks bursting in the night sky, fungus, Carlisle and more…

Change in policy

Pastscape has now, due to customer survey results, re-released its images on a Royalty Free basis & readjusted the pricing scheme accordingly. All images are now priced from as little as £0.20 and more images are being added presently.

We hope our new policy and usage terms are of help to you all.

Ancient Egypt

Over the last two days, a further 200+ photos have been uploaded to pastscape, covering a number of architectural sites in ancient Egypt. Check out our images of Luxor, Karnak, Giza, The West bank, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Aswan, Philae, Abu Simbel and more.

In the coming days, new photographs of Masada in Israel and of Petra in Jordan.

Another upload to Pastscape is complete, with photographs of the North Yorkshire Moors in snow numbering over 200. Subjects include Scarborough, Pickering, Ayton Castle, Snowy Landscapes, Whitby and Gisborough (Guisborough).

In addition, we’ve added a mission statement to the ‘About Us’ page and amended and clarified our usage terms. Pastscape is dedicated to bringing you affordable, yet high quality stock images. To us, the composition of an image is at least as important as its subject and we feel that the selection of Yorkshire images just added reflect that importance. To celebrate Pastscape’s first steps, we’re offering a 20% off deal for a certain number of customers. While viewing your shopping cart, enter the promotional code MAPromo72 to receive your money-off deal!

We hope you enjoy them and as a taster, here’s a small sample:

Whitby in snow

Many photographers will tell you that the best weather for taking scenic and architecture shots is a crips, white blanket of snow beneath you and a clear blue sky above. And a week ago the conditions were perfect on the North Yorkshire coast. Taking advantage of the weather, I visited several beautiful locations in the area and collected some of my favourite photos. Visit Pastscape.com and have a look at the more than 60 great shots of Whitby abbey in snow.

Tunisia

This morning almost a hundred new images of Roman sites in Tunisia were added to the pastscape collection, including shots of Dougga, Thuburbo Maius, Pupput and El Jem. More will be added over the next 24 hours, with roughly 250 images awaiting upload, so if your focus includes Roman Africa, check out the new images.

With payments gateways now open, pastscape has approaching 3,000 photos available.

Galleries have been added to our facebook page with sample images for the various categories of photograph available. In the coming weeks we hope to increase the quantity of images available and spread the word. As a new company we are still in the embryonic stages of promotion and would welcome any comments.

From the point of view of new image acquisition, we hope that the grey and lifeless weather that is the bane of most photographers has finally begun to move on, leaving us with weather conducive to photography.

Onwards and upwards, as they say…

Simon.
